Wood Badgers and Friends of Wood Badgers !
The Longhorn Council’s summer Wood Badge course is just around the corner and the staff of 21-2 need your assistance! Wood Badge Set-Up Weekend is July 3rd at Lakeview Lodge. We will start promptly at 8:30 a.m. but welcome late arrivers, too. We will need plenty of people to:
- Clean and set up Gilwell Hall and Café
- Prepare the parade ground and Gilwell Field
- Prepare the dorms and cabins and support facilities
- Clean up the campfire ring
There’s plenty to do! Please see the attached sheet for a complete list of activities. Please note that we need a few gas-powered weed eaters and blowers for cleaning up the Parade Grounds, Gilwell Field, the OLC, and the campfire site. All other supplies will be provided. You will need your own gloves.
We will have coffee for you early arrivers. Of course, we will provide lunch to all who assist to express our gratitude. If you have staffed before, come out and reconnect with old friends. If you have ever been interested in serving on Wood Badge staff, this is a great way to connect with people who can make it happen!
